Review:
My requirements for this interface are fairly minimal. I just wanted to do a little home recording and to play music (own recordings and purchased) through my studio monitors. I didn't want to go down to only 2 inputs and after many Internet searches for 4 or more I opted for the Behringer with 4 inputs. This was based both on price and other user reviews.

For the money I wasn't expecting anything too exciting, but I would have to say I am very impressed so far. Build quality looks and feels good. It feels very solid and reassuringly rugged.

The audio quality is nothing short of excellent! On my system it is totally silent. I have no hisses, crackles or pops and no drop outs. I haven't had time to test the recording or latency yet, but my guitar and keyboard sound really good through it!

My unit shipped from Germany and so came with a European 2-pin PSU. Not a great problem as permanent adapters for 2-pin to UK 3-pin are easy to get, but a bit irritating that more and more suppliers appear to be doing this.

Connection to the PC and installation was a doddle, but it doesn't come with any drivers so you have to be able to download these from the Internet.

All in all I am very happy with this unit and it only lost a star because of the European PSU and the fact it lacks a physical on-off switch.

Was lucky enough to get hold of one of these before we do a gig next week, allows me to record the DJ - the MCs and the crowd all on separate tracks and all in one box straight to my laptop. Its an awesome little bit of kit & I am still playing with it - got enough outputs and features to keep you very happy!! the only negatives I could find were that the instructions are rubbish ( they basically name the bits but don't show you how they work or how to get the most from them, you have to experiment) & to use the separate outputs ( the playback ones) you have to be connected to your laptop & software to separate the channels not a massive deal but if for some reason your laptop goes down you lose the multiple outputs as well

Review:
This is my second purchase of the UMC404HD (first was for myself, second for my son).

An excellent product which is truly easy to setup and use. Use as my sound card interface from PC and also DAW recordings etc.

No power supply required, 4 inputs and 4 outputs. It is superb value for the features you get and also a very decent build quality.

No wonder these units sell out fast.

Cannot fault in any way (for the type of amateur recordings I make at home).

For the money this interface ticks all the boxes - although not comparable to units costing hundreds of pound - for less than a 100 notes it is great value and the Midas preamps are surprisingly good.

Brilliant for the price. Works with my iPad, allowing me to use my Midi pedal board to control effects (e.g. looper apps - Quanitiloop) and OnSong for both my Guitar & Vocals

Review:
I can't fault this unit. I bought it to use as an interface for live gigging with Ableton and so far it's been perfect. I run four simultaneous inputs - three mics and a guitar - with effects on each channel and it hasn't missed a beat. The output options and A/B cue switch give me all the routing options I need for my setup. I know Behringer get a bad rep, but seriously, this thing is amazing. And it would still be amazing even if it cost more than it does - but it only costs £90!! At that price you really can't go wrong. Get one.

Review:
I've had this for just over a week now. Seems very rugged and well made. Sound quality for recording and playback is good and clean. Only drawback I can see at the moment is that it doesn't seem possible to record or playback all 4 channels at once. I'm unsure if this is a windows limitation or a driver issue, but as its just me it makes little difference.
