Customer Reviews

Great bit of gear. Bought to replace a no longer supported soundcard, so far it's been easy to install and is built like a tank.

Pros: +
Great build quality, excellent features, delivers what it says on the tin

Cons: -
Could do with clearer steer on performance with processor heavy windows 8 - you need to set it up properly to avoid processor overloadGet the cables right first - you need 1/4" jacks and Midi

I have a small production studio at my home, mostly DAWs and Keyboards but the occasional guitar and vocal too. My previous internal sound card was coming to the end of its useful life so I looked around for a replacement. There is a decent amount of choice in the £100-£200 but this little thing ticked all my boxes.

It arrived very quickly (thank you dv247) and as with everything from Native Instruments it is an absolutely top class piece of kit for the price. It is about the size of a paperback book, maybe a little smaller and surprisingly heavy for its size. Installation was simply a matter of going to a web address, following the instructions, plugging in and lo and behold it worked, perfectly, first time. The control interface is clear, easy to read and understand. The integration with Cubase was absolutely seamless.

The only issue I have is with a little too much CPU load but I am sure this has little or nothing to do with my new box and everything to do with not having set things up quite perfectly just yet. It did, after all, only arrive yesterday.

So, so far very impressed with this rugged little box. All of the controls are well marked and easily accessed. I'd have no worries at all hooking it up to a laptop and going out to record live, it seems more than capable of handling itself. I'm looking forward to using it a lot more.

Does everything it says it does on the box. This is a reasonably priced interface which has allowed me to dispose of a midi box and a audio input box, thus taking up less space and wiring.

Pros: +
Solid, stable, genuinely low latency. Guitar Rig elements was surprisingly usable.

Cons: -
Worth noting that when I recorded with a 1/4 inch jack in input 1 and an XLR in input 2 - from a Hartke Bass attack preamp - that the recorded tracks were 180 degrees out of phase. Not the end of the world but some mention in the user manual might be helpful.
