PF-500 Bass Guitar Amp Head description:

Ampeg PF-500 Bass Head - Delivers a staggering 500W of power in an ultra-compact design providing pure Ampeg tone in an extremely portable package.

The Ampeg PF500 harnesses the performance of Ampeg’s highly-researched MOSFET preamp, setting a new standard for solid-state tone. Tonal control is no problem with the 5-position midrange control and classic ultra hi/lo boosts while features like the direct out with ground lift and pad are perfect for the gigging bassist.

There’s even onboard compression for a tighter, cleaner tone at high volumes. Pair it with our PF-115HE or PF-210HE flip-top cabinets for the vintage styling and portability of Ampeg’s iconic Portaflex originals.

Pros: +
Sounds just as an ampeg should! (have owned svt3 pro and fundamental tonal character is similar).Saving between £150-£200 on the likes of markbass little mark, Genz Benz shuttle, EA, Aguilar th500 et al.

Cons: -
Slightly heavier than other D class amp competitors and like all new ampeg's the fan is quite noisy. Can have a slight his if the gain and volume is pushed past 2/3 o clock though it would kill sound engineers with my barefaced cab so not a problem for me. Other cab user might experience mild hiss if their cab is hungry!
