KKP151 description:

The KKP151 Kpanlogo is a relative of the Congo drum, but in many ways its superior.

The head of the KKP151 is goat skin, held down by braided nylon cords. The chamber is enormous, producing a booming sound that evidences this drums informal name ‘-Ngungung’. The Kpanlogo can be played both by hand or stick. Size: 10” x 22”

The Kpanlogo was popularized by the Ga peoples’ dance of the same name that emerged around the time that Ghana successfully achieved its independence from Britain. The dance, and the drum that forms its centerpiece, is a celebration of the good things in life and the hope for a new world.
