My aim with the Adam sub 7 is to hear that bottom end, to help me improve my mixes.
I bought the Adam specifically because it has an on / off capability via a footswitch, and that is essential. When the sub is on, it is disturbing to everyone else in the house because the low end carries through everything, and so its essential to be able to turn it off if I am working on things late. The footswitch turns the sub off, but the signal to the near fields is retained.
It does not mention the footswitch type and I had to try a couple of ones that I have at home to see what worked. You need an on / off latching type with a footswitch, not one of the volume or sustain type pedals with a hinged action.
The sub comes with a wireless remote which controls volume and frequency. I can't see why I would use this as the whole point of having the sub is consistency from one mix to another and when its set up, its set up. Its nice to have all the same, but would have been of much more use if it had an on / off button like the footswitch.

It extended my bass range incredibly, works perfectly with A7X. I use it with Sonarworks Reference 3 to be sure I'm not overusing it, but overall it's an extremely powerful and pleasurable listening experience.
