The Behringer MS40 (Pair) 24-Bit/192 kHz Digital 40-Watt Stereo Near Field Monitors. Extremely compact, super-affordable, digital monitor speakers, MS40, powerful amplifiers with immense headroom.
The Behringer MS40 monitors are extremely compact, super-affordable 2 x 20-Watt near field monitors featuring ultra-high resolution 24-bit/192 kHz D/A converters, which let you connect digital sources directly in order to eliminate analog line-loss and hum. Connect the MS40 mointors to your computer sound card, keyboard, MP3 & Mini Disc players and enjoy excellent detail and great dynamics - Optical and coaxial inputs to directly connect digital audio sources by S/PDIF interface! The MS40 has built-in amplifiers that offer plenty of headroom, while the powerful woofers and tweeters provide an ultra-linear frequency response. Two stereo analog inputs featuring 1/8 inch (3.5 mm mini-jack) TRS and stereo RCA connectors can be used simultaneously or mixed with a digital stereo source. The MS40 speakers also feature individual volume controls for both Line inputs plus Bass and Treble EQ controls, and there is a 1/4 inch jack TRS headphone connector with a front-panel auto-mute loudspeaker function.

Great... Good clear solid sound, well built units with powerful little amps.I love Behringer equipment, recommend giving their gear a try...
Fantastic for the price. Got these for my sons project studio. Very impressed by the clarity verses the price. If you need cheapie monitors you cant go wrong
Having used the MS20 monitors for some time, when I wanted something a little larger, these were my first port of call. They have a little extra bass response over the MS20s, obviously due to the larger speakers but what I really like is the very flexible input arrangement - two Line In connections, each with it's own volume control; Line 1 being able to be configured to use digital input (which itself is switchable between co-ax or optical) or 3.5mm jack and Line 2 using phono (RCA) connectors. Front mounted power switch and 6.3mm headphone socket is very sensible and if you need to tweak to suit your room, there are bass and treble controls with centre detents which is a nice touch. The ported cabinets look smart and at the price, they are excellent value for those of us on a tight budget.
went for these because they suited my needs230v straight in the back (no power brick)power button on the front (where you can get at it)really like being able to input from 2 different sources at the same time, with a volume control for eachoh, & they sound good too.
This is my second set of MS40. The first pair are connected to a multiracker in my studio until I make room for the Truth 2031A. The new pair are for a portable multitracker system. The sound quality and connectivity are just what I need.
Fantastic speaker worth every pennyQuality very cleared sound they are better then Yamaha and cheaper over 50 pound My son so happy
Speakers are great, the only minus is that they come with no cable to connect them to hi-fi or computer and headphones output is for big jack only...
I read a few reviews before investing in these speakers and I was unsure what to expect due to the varying opinions. Upon first listening they're amazing for the price.. in fact delete the 'for the price' bit, they're good speakers.Previously I had my computer system/ studio (sort of) connected to a hi-fi system, separate cambridge audio amp, tape player etc. with gale monitor speakers, thinking I was going to get good sound quality. Anyway, what I can say is that I've saved loads of space with these active speaker/ monitors, made a worthwhile investment, increased flexibility regarding inputs (digital and analogue)/ tone control and achieved better sound quality from my system.I have them set up with RCA analogue leads from my computer's sound card, the sound quality seems very good, if I was a professional (sound engineer/ mixer/ studio person) I'd definitely have these in my set up. The frequency range seems above what I've experienced before and is adjustable with the tone controls.. maybe the mid-range frequencies are slightly 'smudged' (very slightly, and disappears completely with the use of headphonesrecommended for perfectionist mixing).. was concerned when doing required research, about the low frequency shelf, although speaking from an audio/ music enthusiast/ musician's point of view they seem (hesitating to use such a definitive word), perfect?!In summation, and to use predictable wording, I honestly wouldn't hesitate to recommend or find any obvious faults/ criticisms with these speaker/ monitors. Hope you've found this brief review helpful, salutations.
